On our way

On Tuesday, we were up early and on the 0715 bus to Beziers.   All went well and none of Pat's nightmares (miss bus, cases falling out of the bus hold, forgotten passport etc etc) have happened so far. We had breakfast on Allee Paul Riquet, which goes from near the bus station to the train station and the train arrived on time.  Our route takes us from  Beziers through Montpellier and Nimes and then on to Paris - it's a very comfortable way to travel.

We were doing well until we reached a large rock sitting on the line - so that was the end of our nice lunch at a restaurant close to the Gard du Nord!  We were delayed by 45 minutes in the end, but still had time to catch our EuroStar.  Along the way, we took photos and videos for Ernie, who adores any form of transport and is always demanding 'pictures'. John was told off for taking a photo of the EuroStar engine - apparently he had crossed some line where the public are not allowed, but there was no sign to say so!

We arrived at Broasdstairs on time to a beaming Ernie.

For the next few days, we looked after Ernie, going on the Loop bus around Thanet (Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate), stopping at the Turner gallery in Margate For a coffee.

The weather in Thanet was colder than France, but sunny

The next day we took the high speed train to Stratford. Ernie loves this train which takes the high speed line from Ashford to St Pancras. When the train arrived, he was very excited, much to the amusement of our fellow travelers.

There is a very good play centre at Stratford called Discover.  Ernie enjoyed running around and racing up and down the slide, this is with 'Mr Fox'.

On the way back we took him on a new (for all of us) train, the DLR, Docklands light railway.

On Friday, we were looking after him in the afternoon and took him on the loop bus to the Hornby centre, where he played with trains and Scalectrix.

Now we are on our way to James in London and will set out for the airport tomorrow morning.
